A barma is a rocky outcrop, a shelter where one takes refuge during a mountain storm. Here, in this place, the barma is like a hollow tree, one of those trees you can crawl into to observe the snow sliding on top of other layers of snow.
Ancient dwelling dating back to 1724.
It is located in the heart of the village of Estoul, a quaint mountain village situated at an altitude of 1850 meters and overlooking the Ayas valley.
In winter, a short distance away (about 200 meters) from the Brusson - Palasinaz ski facilities.
In summer, it is the ideal starting point for numerous hiking trails, both on foot and by mountain bike. Or simply, an ideal place to rest and enjoy a life still in contact with nature.
You may come across Grandma Anna's grazing cows or Graziella's chickens scratching around in the meadow next to the trail.
You will probably also see Mauro passing by with large buckets of water as he tends to his garden.
Or, if you're lucky, you might come across a deer or a stag in the evening, who, distracted, has come too close to the houses.
The Barma Drola offers its beloved visitors a plentiful and authentic buffet breakfast, with a wide selection of both sweet and savory items. In addition to the renowned Alpenzu bread, butter, and jams, you can also enjoy homemade cakes, fresh fruit, cookies and pastries, cereals, and delicious fruit juices. The yogurts, cheeses, and cold cuts come from the renowned Fromagerie di Brusson, ensuring the highest quality and taste. And of course, coffee, milk, and tea are also available to start the day off right.
The forest is a place that has always fascinated me, perhaps because of the light that illuminates it or the ability to get lost in its paths. It's like going in circles without a specific destination, but it's precisely this sensation that makes everything so interesting. Each tree has its own uniqueness, its own peculiar character that sets it apart from the others. That's why I decided to give a name to the rooms of the forest. I like to think that each one evokes a particular state of mind, sometimes elusive but in certain aspects very clear.
The characteristic barma Drola is located in the picturesque village of Estoul, at an altitude of 1800 meters. This charming B&B is only 100 meters away from the ski facilities of Brusson Pallasinaz.
Positioned in the heart of the village's historic center, this B&B has been expertly restored from an ancient house dating back to the 1700s.
Situated just six kilometers from Brusson and 16 kilometers from Champoluc, the barma Drola is the ideal starting point for exciting hikes and ski mountaineering, both in summer and winter.
